blog post #4

To be honest I never assumed that teachers always had the correct answers. It just never seemed like they were the author or the poet of the text we were reading so how could they really know. Just because they are teachers doesn’t mean they are always right they are human and no ones perfect. I never really thought my interpretation of things really mattered until I got to high school. that’s when we started to read and discuss things more thoroughly and I had a chance to realize that every ones interpretation mattered in one way or another.
When I am reading a story or an essay I try to understand it most of the time thats why I usually read it twice at least the parts I don’t understand. When I think about different interpretations for stories I am all for it. If you actually take the time to really read and dissect the text you will find way more than just one interpretation. Plus your supposed to read things thoroughly so you can get the most out of it anyways.
In an in class discussion I don’t remain silent because I am scared my interpretation is wrong because I know that I am not the only one who came up with that interpretation. I just don’t speak up because I don’t like to talk a lot in class. I was never really big on the writing in the margins while reading a book. Although I was forced to do it in high school and it drove me crazy I hate all those marks inside my books. But I admit it did help me study when it came down to it. I actually do read the text and don’t skim I found out its not easy to pass when you don’t really read the text and just skim through it.
