MTV Mike BP#2

MTV Mike. He is the sort of guy that speaks his mind. He is not afraid of telling you how it is and does not sugarcoat his stories. In watching the various television shows on MTV, Mike has adopted several traits from various characters. Lets start with Beavis and Butthead. Mike mentions that he saw Butthead as more of an oddball than Beavis. I believe that Mike saw a little bit of him inside Butthead's character, as he mentions that they both have braces and that Butthead was confident with himself and did not care what others thought of him. Mike also mentions Daria and David who also taught him some valuable life lessons that are essential when venturing out into the big, round, scary, place that we call the world. Total Request Live is the first television show that Mike mentions as a phony show that barely even shows music videos but rather displays advertisements that brainwash the audience. he mentions that his peers are like sheep, being herded (told) what is hip and cool this day and age and what you should be listening to or wearing. Beavis and Butthead. Self-explanatory. Although I must admit that I have never seen an episode in my life, I can only imagine what it is about. Mike explains that they are two idiotic boys who do really stupid things. That's it. How could you watch something like that? I know that now-a-days people find enjoyment out of other peoples mistakes (take AFV-America's Funniest Home Videos for example). Parental Control and Next are two very stupid shows that I have seen but am begging for that hour of my life back. First of all i never knew that people were that terrible at acting, and how they can treat a total stranger so terribly. Mike and I without a doubt agree 100% on this one. It is amusing to see teenagers act like fools, but would never in a million years think of acting that way. Finally I would sum up Mike's essay as raw and very true to his character and he just tells it how it is. Way to go Mike!

I totally forgot to mention Total Request Live in my post. I never really got into TRL but Mike seemed to like it a lot. I was always kind of mad when the show would not play the entire music video, therefore obligating me to surf the web to find the video and see what happened in it. I can't really see how Mike could see any positive moral traits from the infamous Carson Daly but to each his own. The MTV generation, however did get some direction during their teenage lives from MTV and when it burst onto the television scene like bat out of hell, can you blame them?
