The writing style of Keesha Danso-Dapaah is not one set ‘thing’, it is a mix of everything put together. I typically have too many ideas and thoughts so there is really no flow in my first couple of drafts. Also, I tend to talk about one thing too much and in too much detail and just go on and on much like my face-to-face conversations with people. I guess in way, I write how I speak and e-mail with slang and all. When writing my papers, I find myself having to go back and change around some words or sentences because they are nto suitable for an essay when they could be perfectly written as an e-mail or a facebook wall-post. My style and voice changes depending on who I am writing the paper for and what the topic is. If I am writing for someone around my age, then I will sound more laid-back and use more slang and if I were writing for an adult I would use more complex vocabulary and sentence structure, while still trying to not sound to sophisticated (because I am not a very sophisticated writer). The most interesting point that Kurt Vonnegut brought up was item #6. SAY WHAT YOU MEAN TO SAY. This is where I get caught. I tend to dance around what I am trying to say and not actually just say it. It can get pretty confusing too even read my own writing at times so reading this article made me sit back and reflect on my writing. I personally enjoyed the last sentence to the fullest “You should realize, too, that no one would care how well or badly Mr.White expressed himself, if he did not have perfectly enchanting things to say” (Vonnegut 562) This is exactly how I like to write, quality and not quantity!
