I chose to look at The Pixies myspace website, http://www.myspace.com/pixies. Im not totally sure if this is the "real" Pixies myspace, because in my experience a lot of band myspaces are created by fans and not the bands themselves. Anyway, the colors include extremely earthy and dark tones and remind me of the majority of album covers I've seen. The layout is like most Myspace pages, and the music being played is without a doubt The Pixies. The information seems to be accurate, from what I've learned.
I guess my Facebook depiction of myself is accurate. i don't give out a lot of information or anything, but I definitely portray myself as a girl my age, attending FSU, which is more than some people can say about their profiles.
I feel as though, generally, words are an extremely efficient way of getting one's point across. However, one must consider their audience when deciding which medium to use. If you're trying to get your point across quickly, then maybe you should just have a picture advertisement. If you're trying to inform a group that may not be literate, you might want to try the use of video. Both means are an effective way of expressing your opinion or point of view. I don't think any one way is better than any other; it just depends on various factors.

The medium you use to express your thoughts most deffinently depends on the audience your trying to reach. On facebook most prople are trying to reach their friends whom also have facebook. I believe this is why most people do not put alot of information about themselves on their respective pages. they usually put enough information that that will let their friends be able to recognize their page when searching for it. This is usually accomplished just by using the profile picture. Of course I also think it depends on the technology that is available to you that also determines what medium some people use to express themselves. alot of people do not have a way to put a video on youtube or just do not know how. so it might not be that a video does not fit their audience but that they cannot make a video for youtube for other reasons.
