To start, I enjoyed reading this story because it allowed me to realize that I do change the way I write when I am aiming it towards a certain audience. I realize that I do have certain tendencies to write differently towards different people. Audiences definitely affect the way I write in many ways. For example, when I am writing to my teacher I attempt to use very proper English grammar, and wide variety of vocabulary words that may make me appear more intellectual, which, opposed to when I am writing a letter to a friend or someone who I don’t feel inferior to, I write using the language that I use to speak. That language usually involves slang or grammar techniques that may not be absolutely perfect but they get the point across. When I write towards a professor, I try to perfect my writing and make it the best I can because if I don’t then I might receive a less than satisfactory grade, which isn’t exactly what I am looking for. The role that audiences play in the media is that the media trys to portray what they want in the most simple and understandable way. They want to do this so that they can reach all audiences. They want to reach all audiences so that they can make as many people possible informed of their knowledge. Audiences play a huge role in advertisements because advertisers aim to make people by their products or whatever it is that they are selling. They want their audiences to perceive the product as easily as possible, meaning that they want the audience to understand how the product works, why it is better than other products, and how cheap the product actually is. The reading was very helpful for me to better understand how I write towards my audience.

Honestly, no offense, I would have to say that this was not really my favorite article to read. But I am glad that you enjoyed reading it. However, I do agree in saying that I have altered certain papers in regards to what type of audiences I have. I agree with you in how different audiences react differently...And I giggled a little bit when I read your next comment, because I am guilty of the same thing. I always attempt in writing in proper English when it is addressed towards my teachers. It seems much more professional. Also, it does make it easier to buy products when one understands it better.
