anti ad

I actually found it very difficult to think of an ad to spoof on. This was mostly a problem because of the paper we had to write. If there was no paper then I would have been free to think of a good ad to spoof and to make an appropriate anti-ad. Instead I was stuck with the mentality of "what ad can I pick that will enable me to write seven pages on?" In the end I picked Geico commercials and just went with it. I actually got a good angle and am very proud of my work but I was still unable to write the full length. I found it very difficult. Once I got the idea it was fun to think of how to make an anti-ad but it was also still very difficult. In the end I got the idea to pick a specific Geico commercial and reverse it. I picked the commercial where a celebrity translates for a regular Geico custumer. In my paper I commented on how insulting this was and how it implied that Geico's customers were "simple people". So as my anti-ad I made a celebrity a Geico customer and had a regular person translate for them. I picked Rocky Balboa the fiction chatacter from Rocky played by Silvester Steloan to be the celebrity. My brother and his girlfriend helped me by providing the voices of the anouncer and the regular person respectively. I did the voice of Rocky and we recorded a skit where we played the commercial on audio. I could not do the visual but for that I provided a pictures of Rockey and the regular person.
