The anti-ad assignment sounded interesting from the start. However, i never realized how much work it would take. I started by looking at the adbusters.org site to get some ideas. After looking at their ads, i was like "this isnt gonna be that hard." Next, i started with google. I looked high and low at every type of advertisement you could imagine. This became very frustrating after awhile because i couldnt figure out which ad i wanted to spoof, and which one would look the best after spoofing it. Then, i decided to spoof an alcohol ad. I looked up tons and tons of beer advertisements. The problem with the beer ads were that they were either already really funny, or they seemed to be very difficult to spoof. So i more to liqour, and ended up finding two advertisements from Absolut Vodka. I chose two ads to talk about in my paper three, but only one to spoof. In creating my ant-ad, I recieved some help from one of my friends who was well aquainted with photoshop. Personally, i had never worked with photoshop besides the time in class when we worked with it for like fifteen minutes. We went to a computer lab together and he showed me some of the basics with photoshop. Then i told himexactly what i had in mind for my anti-ad and he showed me how to do it. He then had to leave for class, so i was left alone with photoshop and my ad. I sat in that computer lab for two and a half hours fighting with photoshop. Im happy with my anti-ad, and i know its probably not the best looking anti-ad, but i truly did the best i could. In that aspect, i think i enjoyed thinking up the anti-ad more than actaully creating it. Well, i had fun creating it, but it sure was frustrating sometimes. And it was certainly harder than i expected.
