I have to say I have mixed feelings about Mike’s essay. It was really funny for the most part but I can’t help wonder if maybe I missed something. This is probably because I have never watched MTV. Whenever I turn to it if they are not actually playing music I change it. I mean, isn’t that what the channel is supposed to show? I think I might have stopped to see one of the programs on MTV, but it was only one time and I can’t remember what it was because it probably just wasn’t that note worthy in my view. However, I really liked the way his essay is structured and how he uses humor to show how the shows on MTV have impacted his life. I hope I’ll be able to do that with the essay we are about to write. I also wonder why he chose to write only about the shows on that particular station. Is that the only station he watched or was it just where most of his favorite shows were aired? I also wonder if I should do that with my essay. It would probably be too hard for me because I have favorite TV shows on several stations. I don’t remember if this show was on MTV but I did watch a couple of episodes of “The Real World”. It was pretty interesting for a while but I eventually lost interest. Those people’s squabbling over the most mundane things is just not appealing to me. Of course the main idea is about the essay, which he did a very good job? I think he might have convinced me to maybe watch a few programs from MTV; of course I’ll probably have to have one of my friends there to explain what’s happening.
