No, I do not believe that teachers always have the "correct" answers.  I say this because in many circumstances I have witnessed teachers make mistakes and get proven wrong.  I understand that teachers aren't perfect. They are human beings just as the rest of us are.  Yes, they do teach us a variety of new things, but they are only teaching us what they have been taught, and who knows if that information is correct or not.  All my teachers in the past, with the exception of a few mean teachers, have valued my opinions and the opinions of all my classmates, so no, my interpretation of the material does matter to my past teachers.
Usually, when I begin to read a story or write an essay, I do it because my teacher has told me to. Although, I do read various books, articles, and information just to learn more.  I haven't ever written any story or anything like that for fun though, and I don't know why.  I do enjoy writing about things that I relate to, but I only tend to write when a paper is due.
I believe it is very possible for a story to have many very different interpretations.  All it is, is how the reader comprehends the reading.  For example, is the glass half empty or half full?  It's the same glass, with the same amount of liquid in it, it's just being viewed from a different perspective.
First of all, I am never ashamed or afraid to speak my interpretation of some reading or anything in a class.  Everyone has a different perspective on something, so it's best to listen to all perspectives to get the absolute best understanding of the material. Second of all, I'm never wrong anyways so why not voice my opinion. (by the way just being sarcastic).
When I read, I usually read it aloud to myself, so that I get the full visual and audio effects of what I'm reading.  It helps me retain the information better that way, and I noticed that every once in a while I will write a few notes in the margin.  These notes are usually important facts or events that I might want to remember.

I completely agree with you chace I never thought teachers new everything they are human and of course they’re going to make mistakes and I have seen it happen first hand too. Its cool that teachers are open to their students opinions and how it actually matters to most of them except the few that are mean. I like your example of different views on things like the glass half full or empty it all depends on who is looking at the glass and how they perceive it. Your right when you say everyone has a different point of view and yes they do matter and make a difference.
